OCIA

A guided path for adults and children who are joining the Church.

  • Candidates and parents
  • OCIA team
  • Parish office

OCIA is the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. It welcomes people who want to become Catholic. Antiphona keeps the paperwork and the path in one place, from the first question to the day of reception.

The OCIA welcome page with a Start Your OCIA Journey heading, buttons to begin for yourself or for a child or to see your status, and four cards about Thursday evenings, Sunday Mass, retreats and service.
Adults and children begin the path to the sacraments from one welcome page.

What candidates and parents can do

  • Start one intake wizard, for yourself or for your child. It works out the right path.
  • See your path, and the status of your intake, documents, sponsor and payment.
  • Read the upcoming sessions, and find your sponsor's contact details.
  • See each document you sent, and whether it was approved.
The OCIA dashboard shows the Candidate path with an anticipated reception date, status chips for intake, documents, sponsor and payment, four upcoming sessions, the sponsor's contact details and two documents.
Each inquirer sees their path, upcoming sessions, sponsor and paperwork in one place.

What the team can do

  • Create a cohort for the year, and read its roster. Filter by path or status.
  • Act on a group at once: export to a spreadsheet, send an email or a text, mark rite attendance, or advance the status.
  • Promote a candidate to a parishioner when the time comes.
  • Review each uploaded document, and keep a registry of sponsors with their vetting status.
  • Record sacramental outcomes: baptism, confirmation and first Eucharist.
The OCIA administration roster lists ten adult candidates for the 2026-2027 cohort with their path, status and payment, and three rows ticked for bulk actions.
Coordinators track every candidate in a cohort and act on many at once.
